JuneShine began in a garage in San Diego only a year ago. Its founders started brewing after wandering the aisles of their local grocery store and realizing there was a sustainable, transparent product in nearly every category–except alcohol. This led them to ask: why do we know so much about the food we eat, but so little about the alcohol we drink? They’d grown frustrated by the lack of honest, transparent alcohols that fit their healthy, active lifestyles and decided to start their own.
Their initial brew of organic green tea, honey, and JuneShine’s symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast (SCOBY) produces an unbelievably smooth and delicate kombucha that is then elevated to 6% ABV after a secondary fermentation with organic cane sugar and brewers yeast. Then they add organic juices and spices to taste, creating unique and refreshingly smooth flavors without preservatives, additives, coloring, high-fructose corn syrup, and that other bad stuff. Real. Refreshing.
The JuneShine team is made up of avid adventurers, explorers, and creatives, and 1% of all revenues go toward Patagonia’s nonprofit, 1% For The Planet. JuneShine implements as many sustainability initiatives as they can, such as removing plastic from their supply chain, using their green spaces as community gardens, and using rubber bands on kegs instead of plastic wrap.
JuneShine brews honest alcohol for a healthier planet. Real. Refreshing.
JuneShine will be pouring Saturday and Sunday, August 3rd and 4th, 2019!
